Here is a very clean explanation that could work for you as well and was provided by another Soldier.

 IF the above steps did not work, continue down the page.

Make sure all applications/programs are closed, especially Outlook and Office.

ApproveIt uninstall

Step 1: From the Windows control panel, use Add/Remove Programs to uninstall all ApproveIt products resident on the machine.

Step 2: Unregister the OfficeAddIn.dll file in the following way;

- Start -> Run ->type in the following in the Run box Regsvr32 /u officeaddin.dll

- Press OK and watch for the confirmation message stating the action was completed successfully, don't worry if it comes back as unsuccessful

Step 3: If any of the files and directories below are found after the uninstall process in Step 1 is completed, delete any of the following;

- C:\program files\approveit directory and all subdirectories

- Any files named 400D8.dot anywhere on the machine (you can run a search for it)

- Any version of OfficeAddIn.dll present in C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32

- Any version of erainp32.pw1 present in C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32.

- Any instance of AprOff97.dll on the machine

Step 4:

- Go to Start->Run->type in Regedit (please be careful here)

- Delete all ApproveIt registry keys in:

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Silanis"

"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Silanis"

"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\ApproveIt MS Office"

Step 5:

- If found, delete the file named ApproveItEx.dot or the same file with a ~ in front of the name. This file is usually found in the Office startup folder ( on my machine it is at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Startup or C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\Startup )

- If found, delete the file named Normal.dot or the same file with a ~ in front of the name. This file is usually found in the user Office templates folder ( on my machine it is at C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates )

Step 6:

- Restart the PC

PureEdge uninstall

Step 1

- Open Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and uninstall any/all PureEdge Viewer entries

- Open Task Manager and under the Processes Tab look for 'masqform.exe'

if found, stop it

- Go to the following location 'C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information' and look for any of the following files and delete them {E0000510-0510-0510-0510-000000000510}

{E0000600-0600-0600-0600-000000000600}

{E0000610-0610-0610-0610-000000000610}

{E0000650-0650-0650-0650-000000000650}

- Delete the folder C:\Program Files\PureEdge\Viewer 6.5

- Restart PC

- Install the PureEdge Viewer

- Try to open a PureEdge form, if successful

- Install ApproveIt

- Try to open and sign a PureEdge form

- Try to open and sign a Word Document

If at any time you receive errors/messages, please provide screen shots and where is the process you received them.

If you still are unable to sign after performing all of the steps above, perform the following:

Copy and paste the libeay32.dll from C:\Program Files\ApproveIt to the following folders

C:\Program Files\PureEdge\Viewer6.5\extensions

and to

C:\Program Files\PureEdge\Viewer 6.5\API\65\System

Restart PC and open form and try to sign.

   If you receive the following error "An installation support file could not be installed.  They system cannot find the file specified."

After performing the uninstall / reinstall steps and you still get the error message.  Try the following:

Go to Start, Run and enter 'regedit' and delete the follwing key.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\

{E00000650-0650-0650-0650-000000000650}

This will remove the entry for the 6.5 Viewer in the Add/Remove programs list.

Following this, they should run the installer with Administrative privileges.
