Pure Edge DOES work on Vista and Windows 7 (32 & 64-bit versions) https://chess.army.mil/ascp/commerce/download/pure_edge.jsp NOTE: You may have to register for this site when you first get to it. This is the same site where you will download ApproveIt and can order computers with the Government employee discount. Click the Link Titled: Download Software, (you will be prompted to logon with your AKO (or CAC now)). Click the link titled: PureEdge Viewer application, Save it to a location like your desktop or My Documents. Once it is downloaded, double click the file titled: PEViewer650DODJ12 (Custom IFCX-v3)(14Feb06), Select Run, Yes, Next, Yes, Next, Next, (uncheck Launch the application box), Finish PROCEED TO STEP 6 - INSTALL APPROVE IT PURE EDGE INSTALLATION PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS Alternate Download Location: https://www.us.army.mil/suite/page/353688 Once on this page scroll down on the left side of the page to PureEdge/Workplace User Center Knowledge Center. Click on the click here to register, you will see file folders. Click on the one that says PureEdge Viewer Information, PureEdge Viewer 6_5, PureEdge Viewer 6_5, PEViewer650DODJ12 (Custom IFX-v3) (14Feb06) and save it to your computer. Once it is downloaded, double click the file titled: PEViewer650DODJ12 (Custom IFCX-v3)(14Feb06), Select Run, Yes, Next, Yes, Next, Next, (uncheck Launch the application box), Finish To get DA forms, go to the Army Publishing Directorate website, click on the DA Forms button under EForms, find the form you need (in the range of form numbers). Right click the XFDL link to the right of the form you want, Select Save Target As. Save it to your computer and you will have the form for later. You can also click the link, it will open up your Pure Edge software automatically. When in Pure Edge, you will use the Save As link at the top of the page to save your form.

You can use the following link and go to this site where all the PureEdge forms are stored in a .zip file. http://www.army.mil/usapa/eforms/index.html#eforms_range I recommend that if you are going to use this .zip with all the forms that you at a minimum redownload this .zip file once a week due to forms being obsolete, updated, new forms added etc so you are sure to have the most current version of any form that is available. You will want to use the "click here" for the XFDL files, this is located at about the middle of the page.
Message from APD's website: In response to the Army transitioning to Microsoft Vista Operating System, Lotus Forms Viewer 3.5 along with the latest version of ApproveIt digital signature software (v. 6.1), will provide a solution to the compatibility issues brought on by Vista, using PureEdge Viewer 6.5 and Silanis ApproveIt 5.9. Although this migration will provide a solution for Vista users, it will not impact those using Windows XP. This does not introduce further compatibility issues with PureEdge Viewer 6.5 and ApproveIt 5.9 on the XP platform conducting business with Lotus Forms Viewer 3.5 and ApproveIt 6.1 users on Vista platform, and vice versa. The Army Gold Master (AGM July 2009 release) provided the Lotus Forms Viewer 3.5 software for the entire Army. However, the release of ApproveIt digital signature software (v. 6.1) has been delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. At present, there is no ETA as to when ApproveIt will be available on the AGM. We apologize for any inconvenience to Army users and are working this effort as a top priority. For updates on this effort please contact APDFCMP@conus.army.mil.
The current Pure Edge software mentioned on this page above with the Approve It software currently on the Approve It page DOES work on Vista (32 & 64-bit) and Windows 7 (32 & 64-bit). Formflow is also available NOTE: APD has removed ALL Formflow forms from their website.
Digitally signing a form is simple when following these instructions With a form open and your CAC inserted in the card reader Single click the area that looks like a little slanted pen with some writing after it Read the disclaimer, hit OK Click the word Sign Select your name (the one without the word email in it), then OK You should see your name, once you do, click the word Sign It will prompt you for your PIN, type it in, then select OK Once you read Signature is valid, Select OK You have now signed your form
