Update your ActivClient 6.2.0.x software (Windows 7 and below)

Update ActivClient 7.0.2.x software (Windows 8.1)

Update ActivID 7.1.0.x software (Windows 10 & 8.1)

NOTE:  Some of people "may" need to Right click the file and Run as Administrator

NOTE:  The Cross Cert Remover tool is "supposed" to be an automated way of removing some certificates that cause access problems.  From what I've experienced, you still need to follow my guide [slide 15] and manually remove certificates the Cross Cert Removal Tools fails to remove.  Feel free to use if you want to waste your time.

Problem:  If you are unable to run the .msi or .msp file from inside the zip folder, you may have changed what program opens those file types automatically.  One program that works on Windows Vista & 7 is called:  "unassoc_1_4.zip"  When you run it, it lets you decide which program you need to have unassociated.  It worked great for this purpose.

The Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) has created this single file that includes

the InstallRoot and the Cross Cert Removal tool in one executable file

 .

Home Users ONLY can download / use from:

updated imageMilitaryCAC - https://militarycac.com/files/HomeUserCertTool_V06.zip

(Double click the file in the zip folder)

AKO will not allow it to be uploaded, as it is a .exe file

Note: This file installs some additional [not needed] certificates that the regular InstallRoot file doesn't install

Due to an email (and phone call) received from a representative of the ActivIdentity Corporation on 11 March 2013.  I have been directed to remove all ActivClient software from MilitaryCAC.

Official statement from ActivIdentity:  "ActivIdentity Inc. is the developer, publisher and copyright owner for the ActivClient software, including updates to the software.  As such, no third party may copy or distribute ActivClient software without ActivIdentity's consent.  The unauthorized copying or distribution of ActivClient software is a violation of Federal copyright laws, and the penalties for such copyright violations can be substantial.

We appreciate your removing ActivIdentity software from your website, and I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or comments."

I have left the AKO links above.  While this is great for Army users, if you are in another branch of the military, I am not able to provide the software you need to be able to use your CAC on your computer.
